This short week is puttering along, and I don’t want to toot my own horn but there are some low-key excellent shows this weekend. No huge, established acts, just some good honest acts at intimate settings.
At the time of writing, this soup-like weather should break later today and the weekend looks perfect, which is handy for the outdoor shows on this list in particular…
Due to an administrative human error, this is going out late, and a couple of times you may just have to dream longingly about what might have been, but we all make mistakes and we’re still offering up some excellent options for the weekend. Enjoy!
Happy memorial day weekend! As we consider those who have died while serving the country, it’s also a good time to be grateful that rates of war and battle deaths have gone down dramatically. So all the more reason to raise a glass to those who have both lost their lives, and for, hopefully, more […]
Baseball season is here and obviously The Mets are going to win the world series this year… as sure as eggs is eggs, and just like the following suggestions are the best shows to hit up this weekend.

I already tipped you off to some spine-tingling sets going on in the hood tonight, but let’s be real, your sugar rush should keep you soaring straight through the weekend. Keep things sweet with these […]
I take every opportunity to wax lyrical about Chilean psych bands when they come to town, but sadly The Holydrug Couple‘s show at Public Arts on Friday was canceled as the band could not make it. Alas, hopefully there will be another opportunity to hear about how their most recent release, Hyper Super Mega is an excellent addition […]
And suddenly we’re hurtling towards mid-October. Whilst Halloween edges nearer, there’s nothing horrific about the quality of options bestowed upon you this weekend – although I won’t blame you if you just want to stay in and watch horror movies instead, ’tis the season!
