The South has arrived in Williamsburg at the Grand Street bar Lady Jay’s where you’ll find moonshine, mounted antlers, a backyard deck and a jukebox stocked with Waylon, Loretta, Patsy and Johnny. Restaurant veteran Sam Mason (former wd-50 and Tailor chef and star of “Dinner with the Band”) decided to try something new by leaving the restaurant world and opening a bar. The brick interior of Lady Jay’s reminds us of an old saloon and even has a vintage shuffle bowling machine. Six beers are available on tap and there’s a solid variety of Scotches and whiskeys. Our favorite part of the joint is the outside deck that’s as large as the interior. There are plans for a pool table, backyard BBQ’s, live music performances, and crawfish boils.
