One of Williamsburg’s last relics of physical in-store film rentals is hoping to boost business and compete with online services such as Netflix by offering the most cherished of Billyburg delights: booze and fancy fare.
The Brooklyn Paper reports Videology on Bedford Ave. plans to add a 30-seat screening room, complete with alcohol and hors d’oeuvres service similar to DUMBO’s popular gastroscreen, Rerun. Videology’s 40-seat bar will serve domestic and imported wines and 10 draft beers. Food options will include croquettes with Acme smoked salmon, gourmet popcorn, craft pickles, brisket and pork chili, Mexican posole, pea soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Film trivia nights, director question and answer series and movie-themed cult comedy shows are also in the works.
If all goes well, you can pair your Godard with a cabernet this fall.
