Nitehawk is venturing out on May Day for a collaboration with Villain. The two will host an installation featuring The Wicker Men, playing simultaneously The Wicker Man original 1973 version of the film as well as the Nicholas Cage remake. Musical accompaniment by DJ Devon E. Levins of Morricone Youth and WFMU’s Morricone Island. Tickets include one specialty beer and salted honey cocktail brought to you by Braven Brewery, New York Distilling Company and Bushwick Kitchen.
Come of your own free will to the windswept coast of Scotland, where hidden amongst shards of land jutting from the sea lies Summerisle, an isolated serfdom still living in service to “the old gods.” Each year, the villagers gather for their biggest celebration: May Day, an annual festival of rituals and rites honoring rebirth, sexual awakening and the dawn of Summer. This May Day falls at an especially calamitous time in the history of the island, and only you have the proper credentials for a sunset meeting with The Wicker Men.
Sunday, May 1st at 5 p.m.
Villain – 50 North 3rd Street
