Electric Zoo has experienced a metamorphosis. For more than a decade, New York’s premier electronic music festival has been a destination for thrill seekers on the east coast. In the past it has celebrated themes like Wild Island and The 6th Boro, which celebrated all things Big Apple. However, this year was all about shining a spotlight on the event’s evolution. Over Labor Day weekend, Electric Zoo: Evolved brought new stage designs, booming sound systems and a star-studded lineup to Randall’s Island. Zoo Veterans like Kaskade and Armin Van Buuren lit up the main stage, while up and comers like MIME, Gerry Gonza, 1788-L and local producer/DJ Charles Meyers breathed fresh energy into side stages All My Friends (AMF) tent and the Hilltop Arena.
It was a wild weekend, and we’ve got the shots to prove it. Check out these outrageous images that encapsulate the spirit of Electric Zoo: Evolved.
