I don’t think I ever really woke up on Monday. Being out of town for two weeks paired with all of this rain has me feelin’ bleary-eyed AF. The forecast is looking pretty wet for the foreseeable future, but I refuse to let this news rain of my open-air parade (metaphorically speaking, anyway). Outdoor parties are in full swing this weekend so go to the 99 cent store, grab your ass a poncho and prepare to party it out, rain or shine. (Hey, at least it’s not cold?) And if you’re not feeling the soggy suggestions, well, you’ve got some indoor options too.
.) Black Coffee & Soul Clap @ Terminal 5 (Friday, May 18th) – While T5 isn’t technically a Brooklyn venue, their surprising Friday night lineup features a couple of our neighborhood favorites. The venue will be staying open past curfew this weekend, for an extended, four-hour set from South African techno producer, Black Coffee. Our funky friends, Soul Clap, will be providing support at this all night party you won’t want to miss. Get tickets HERE.
.) The Cityfox Experience presents REGENERATE @ The Brooklyn Mirage (Saturday, May 19) – The Brooklyn Mirage is opening this weekend, and who better to kick off the summer festivities than recurring residents, The Cityfox Experience? Their upcoming REGENERATE party is sure to invigorate the senses and set the tone for a kick-ass season thanks to performances from some of house and techno’s biggest names including Serge Devant, ANNA and Martin Buttrich. ICYMI, we’re running a contest for a free pair of tix. But if you want to play it safe, you can still buy tickets HERE.
.) Heidi @ Good Room (Saturday, May 19) – Heidi is a real firecracker. Don’t let the sweet name fool you – she’s a fierce competitor in the house and techno game. Anyone who has attended one of her world-renowned Jackathon parties or listened to her BBC 1 Radio show can tell you, Heidi’s got attitude . . . the good kind, the infectious kind, the all-around “this girl is crazy, and I love her” kind. Heidi’s love for music came from the dancefloor, so it’s only appropriate that she descends on one of Greenpoint’s finest with the promise of a high energy performance that will leave your buzzing for days to come. Get tickets HERE.
.) Knee Deep in Queens @ The Knockdown Center (Saturday, May 19th) – Hot Since 82 is bringing a few of his friends to Ridgewood this Saturday! The Knockdown Center will be transformed into tech house heaven when Pete Tong and Lauren Lane join the Knee Deep in Sound label head for a day into night party that god himself could not sink (please don’t flood this party). Get tickets HERE.
.) Golden Hours with Wolf + Lamb @ House of Yes (Saturday, May 19th) – Disco, anyone? Prepare to dance ’til sunrise to house and retro-inspired beats compliments of local favorites Wolf + Lamb. The Brooklyn-based duo will make Bushwick’s rhinestone clad venue a little shinier this weekend with a mandatory glitter and gold dress code. You’ll have the time of your life as your glow and flow in your most luminescent tones. House of Yes resident David Kiss provides support at this all-night shindig. Get tickets HERE.
