Brooklyn’s newest club Brooklyn Steel opens tonight in East Williamsburg/Bushwick. We’d rather have more DIY spaces like Shea Stadium in the neighborhood, but we have to admit that the space looks pretty cool. It’s a rocky start for the 1,900 square foot venue at 319 Frost Street— LCD Soundsystem fans are pissed that 10,000 tickets to their five night residency sold out in a matter of minutes:
Tickets to LCD Soundsystem‘s five Brooklyn Steel shows just went on sale at noon and AEG’s AXS ticket site pretty much instantly crashed as you can see from the error message above. (it’s back up now.) If you were queued before noon, you may have gotten to ticket page, though if you got tickets beyond that…well, did you manage to score tickets?
People are finding plenty of tickets on reseller sites like StubHub and are angry about it, but Brooklyn Steel on Twitter said they’re trying to thwart scalpers on the five sold-out shows
If you managed to get a ticket, congratulations. Let us know how it is.
The space is run by Bowery Presents and is in the former home of a steel manufacturing plant. The line-up thus far is pretty stellar including Real Estate, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Decemberists, PJ Harvey, Chairlift, Goldfrapp, Whitney, Mitski, Tycho, Slowdive. Here’s a peak inside:
