Normally, Division Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is well traveled by locals who want to take in the great New York City skylines.
Detectives are now looking for answers after a woman’s body was found at the end of the block near Kent Avenue.
The body was loosely covered by a quilted blanket, the kind used by movers. Police were called Tuesday afternoon but the victim may have been there for much longer, unnoticed. A man saw the blanket when he arrived for work but didn’t think twice about it.
Police believe the victim is African-American and in her 30s. She has not been identified yet. The cause of death to be determined by an autopsy.
So little is known about the victim and how she died, however investigators do not believe the body washed ashore. More than likely they think the victim was dumped at the location.
