A Williamsburg woman recently went through an unfortunate chain of events that started with her punching a hole in the door of her bedroom in her Morgan street apartment. After punching a hole in her door she got locked up due to a warrant that was out for her arrest. While she was in jail a thief was able to enter her bedroom because of the hole and steal $850, plane tickets to Wisconsin and a note from her dead grandparents. From DNA info:
When she returned home the next day at 5 p.m., the woman saw that all the items were missing from the couch where she left them, police said.
The thief had entered her room from the bedroom door, which had a hole in it from when the woman punched it sometime before her arrest, police said. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment, police said.
The woman told police that she believed her roommate took the belongings.
I’m no Sarah Koenig, but considering someone probably need a key to get into the apartment in the first place, I’d say the roommate is a fairly strong guess.
