Williamsburg now has the country's only bar dedicated exclusively to Matcha

Whatever the heck that is. Luckily, Matcha Bar explains this mysterious concoction to newbies like us:

1. A Japanese powdered green tea, historically used to enhance one’s focus, energy, and alertness.
2. The stone-ground powder derived from the topmost leaves of the first harvest of a green tea crop.

MatchaBar is proud to serve its own brand of matcha sourced directly from an independent family farm in Nishio, Japan. We were lucky enough to visit the farm for the spring harvest, learning about the extensive cultivation, manufacturing and quality analysis that goes into our product. We offer matcha tins in two grades: MatchaBar Classic and MatchaBar Premium. The beautiful, electric green color of our matcha is a testament to its excellent quality. Our matcha has an earthy full-bodied flavor, with a creamy texture, natural sweetness, and a strong umami after-taste. Like a fine wine, matcha has a highly developed flavor profile that lingers after consumed — subtle and delicious.

Grub Street has a handy guide to other spots in the city where you can find Matcha.

How is that logo not a violation of Matador Records’?
