header-logo copyVH1 and Republic records have been scouting America in search of the next buzz band. After half a million votes sent by fans via Twitter, the 24 finalists have been selected, all of whom will compete in the finals of VH1’s Make a Band Famous. This event will be broadcast through a 24-hour live stream hosted by All American Rejects lead singer and bassist, Tyson Ritter. Finalists will compete in a series of challenges over that time period like learning a cover song in an hour, recreating classic hits with toy instruments (so Brooklyn) and busking for fans on the mean streets of Williamsburg (they better bring their A-game, or it’s about to get real apathetic up in hurrr . . . ).

Here’s your list of worthy contenders, all of whom will be competing for the coveted title of winner, a showcase at Brooklyn’s Northside Festival next weekend and a contract with Republic Records:

The Final 24:

  • An Old Friend: Alternative, Medford, NY
  • Aquile & The Orbit Group: Neo-Soul, San Diego, CA
  • Bro 5: Pop/Rock, Ridgefield Park, NJ
  • Cheezy and the Crackers: Easy-Listening, Philadelphia, PA
  • Chris Ayer: Singer/Songwriter, Los Angeles, CA
  • David Paige: Pop/Rock, Chicago, IL
  • Dead 27s: Roots Rock, Charleston, SC
  • Dirty Du: Contemporary R&B, Silver Spring, MD
  • fancy reagan: Pop/Rock, NY, NY
  • Good Night Alive: Indie Rock, Macon, GA
  • John and Luke: Alternative, Indianapolis, IN
  • Malado Music: Hip-Hop, Springfield, MA
  • Pastele: Pop, Livingston, NJ
  • RAHBI: Pop/Rock, Atlanta, GA
  • Rainbow Kitten Surprise: Alternative, Boone, NC
  • Ratham Stone Pop/Rock, Orlando, FL
  • Spectators: Indie Rock, Chicago, IL
  • The Assembly Line: Alternative, NY, NY
  • The One Seven Four: American Trad Rock, Stillwater, OK

“Make a Band Famous” is exposing it all. Viewers can tune in to an uncensored, uncut livestream from multiple cameras that will stream simultaneously. Viewers get an exclusive look at performances, interviews, the green room, the judges’ opinions and the bands potentially losing their sh*t as they compete for their big break. In addition to the livestream, “Make A Band Famous” will be heavily featured throughout the day on VH1’s television lineup and via social media. The teeth-grinding, pulse pumping 24-hour period will be raw, uncut and uncensored on VH1.com and the VH1 App starting Wednesday,  June 11th at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.

You can catch the live action in Brooklyn by attending the June 11th kickoff at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook from 8:00 PM – 10:45 PM where the 24 brands will play a 60 second Stop/Watch version of an original song, or at the finale when the last bands standing will perform two original songs in McCarren Park from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday June 12th.
