This Saturday, the sweet, summery sounds of Tennis fill Music Hall of Williamsburg and we’ve got a couple tickets to the sold out show just for you.
The band recently switched labels from Fat Possum to Communion, Ben Lovett’s organization, and released the EP Small Sound late last year. “Mean Streets” opens the mini record with a surprising light R&B touch and sets the mood. The second track “Timothy” brings it back to the softer sounds more familiar to the band, but throughout the EP, the tunes continue to shift slightly 20 degrees east or west of the band’s true north. One consistency to Small Sound is Alaina Moore’s voice. Her delicate vocals weave around other textures in such a way, you never forget who you’re listening to.
Supporting the whimsy couple is Ski Lodge, creating the perfect bill to transport you to a toes-in-the-sand state of mind for a few hours.
