Sunday Service at The Woods featuring live music, football and a special menu by Landhaus

Sunday Service at The Woods

The Woods is the place to be on Sundays. Starting at 2pm, Landhaus offers a special Sunday roast menu that changes weekly, along with their standard menu offerings. Football is on at the back bar with audio all day. And don’t let the chilly weather get you down — their heated back bar and garden is open year round — a treat during those colder months.

Plus, there’s live music from Sammy Miller and The Congregation, a seven-piece jazz ensemble, that blends far ranging gospel, folk, soul, and even comedic influences into a new musical hybrid they’ve coined as joyful jazz. Get yourself to Sunday Services – your soul will thank you. The Congregation’s Sunday Service residency continues at The Woods every Sunday at 7PM.

Popular farm-to-table chefs behind Landhaus now have a permanent location at The Woods

Landhaus at the Woods 48 South 4th Street, Williamsburg

If you’ve sampled their fare at Smorgasburg, you know this is good news. Plus, The Woods is one of our favorite bars. From their press release:

The chefs behind Landhaus, the beloved farm to sandwich and grilled maple bacon sticks Smorgasburg fixture, and the owners of the popular Brooklyn neighborhood bar and DJ venue The Woods, have partnered to launch Landhaus at The Woods (48 S. 4th Street, Williamsburg). Serving delicious twists on American classics that complement the bar’s selection of craft beers, artisanal spirits and cocktails, Landhaus at The Woods becomes the perfect destination for a casual dinner in the courtyard, boozy weekend brunch (to come) or late night snack at the bar.

With a permanent home and newly constructed kitchen, Landhaus at The Woods will introduce an extensive menu of fun, delicious and affordable twists on American classics that reflects the diverse culinary backgrounds of the partners: American, Korean, Mexican and Filipino. Fresh, inventive takes on American and Southern classics include Landhaus BLT with thick slabs of bacon and baconized mayo; Crispy Duck wings with a Korean chili glaze; The Ribs glazed pork spareribs with crushed peanuts and cilantro; Char-Grilled Young Chicken with guajillo marinade and house buttermilk dill ranch; The Cholo Egg, a soft yolk egg encased in chicken chorizo and fried; Jalapeño Cheddar Hush Puppies; Crab Rangoon fried wontons filled with crab and pimento cheese; and Grilled Corn with toasted spices, feta and lime. With their signature creative approach to the Blue Plate Special, the chefs will offer a nightly special that will include Creekstone Farms Steak with bone marrow butter; Fried Chicken with collards, biscuits and gravy, and Pork Chops with sweet corn puree, swiss chard and salsa verde. Please see the menu below – nothing is over $14. Summer drinks from The Woods complement the new menu, with a selection of tiki and frozen drinks available at the outdoor bar.

Name This Dead Stuffed Fox And Win $500 Worth Of Booze At The Woods

Sounds like a good deal to us!

Via Brokelyn

Williamsburg’s The Woods just got a new, possibly stuffed, possibly alive, fox, and they’re giving away a $500 bar tab to the person who can give it the best name. However, there’s a catch: you can only drink that $500 away during their weekday happy hours from 4-10. And you have less than a month to get through your tab…

But, if you feel like you’ve got the liver of a god, then follow them on Twitter and tweet your fox names to them using #NameTheFox by April 20th. If they choose one of yours, you win the one-month bender. Congrats?

Will You Eat At The Woods’ New Restaurant?

via Landhaus blog

When I think of The Woods, the place to go in south Williamsburg when you want one of those kinds of nights, I don’t really think of fancy “farm to sandwich” cuisine. That may soon change; according to Eater, Brooklyn Flea favorite Landaus has announced that they’re opening a full restaurant inside The Woods. The restaurant – that’s right, not just a food cart – will take the place of the taco cart that’s been operating out of the backyard since 2009.

Landhaus at The Woods, as it will be called, will have a full kitchen and menu items like “wood-grilled heritage pork chops, grass fed cheeseburgers, lobster rolls, and roasted mushroom sandwiches with cheddar cheese sauce.” There will be a party for the restaurant’s opening this Sunday, October 28th from 2-6pm.
