Hopefully everyone had a nice thanksgiving, even better if you’re off work today too. There is a nice mix of shows this weekend, and since you’re probably still struggling to digest yesterday’s food, we’ll keep this to the point.
Some Brooklyn Electronic Festival shows would have made the cut this week, but I’m recusing them from this post because our very own glo stick-wielding correspondent Megan Venzin already did a fine job covering that for ya right here. It’s a pretty stacked weekend for live music – I had a tough time whittling this down to just five shows and that’s without even considering BEMF, so that’s really saying something. The fact that a free show from perhaps the best and most important pop-punk band in the game today, The Menzingers comes in at #5 here further echoes that sentiment. The show catches the Scranton, PA quartet at the tail end of their Rented World tour, the admirable follow up to 2012’s genre-redefining On the Impossible Past.
