More closings in Williamsburg and Greenpoint

The new year has just begun so we’re sorry to be the bearers of bad news. BUT, two popular restaurants closed while we were all over-indulging for the holidays. In Williamsburg, The Camlin closed just days before Christmas. Despite solid reviews, they were never able to get the traction they needed to stay afloat:

Restaurant & bar news: Björk visits The Well, Trash Bar owners opening “family-friendly” restaurant

Our favorite Icelandic icon was in Bushwick this week, visiting Tradesman and The Well!:

The wonderful, explosive, innovative, immortal Björk was seen at Tradesman bar and subsequently disappeared in the depths of The Well on Meserole St. Update: A representative of The Wick/The Well has informed us that Björk popped in to see the third Tinnitus Music Series show with Vessel, Container, and Noveller. Isaiah David sent us a pic of her hanging out and a dancing video to Vessel!

The most anticipated North Brooklyn restaurant openings of 2015 (thus far)

Given the insane amount of growth underway it North Brooklyn, it’s hardly surprising that lots of new restaurants are opening in 2015. Hook & Cleaver opens today in Greenpoint and there’s lots more in store as the year progresses:

A new Williamsburg wine bar from Mandy Oser and chef Amorette Casaus, the team behind Manhattan’s popular Ardesia Wine Bar. It promises to be a casual neighborhood spot along the rapidly developing stretch of Kent Avenue, serving bar snacks like oyster and charcuterie, along with some larger shared plates. It will also serve cocktails as well as wine.
