Video: Quicksand at Saint Vitus (New Year’s Eve)

photo 1From Glassland’s DIIV-headlined send-off to The Hold Steady’s Music Hall of Williamsburg bash, there was certainly no shortage of awesome options for live music fans on NYE. For the 90s crust clique, however, there was only one place to be (per usual): Saint Vitus for an ultra-rare appearnace by local post-hardcore legends, Quicksand. Tickets were midtown-level pricey and the 250-cap venue sold out at the pop of a cork, so if you didn’t (or couldn’t) make it, don’t stress, we have the full-set video below. Happy New Year, heshers.

Quicksand… a lifetime ago

Quicksand at the old Anthrax in Norwalk, CT in 1990. This footage surfaced today, probably sparked by the recent run of reunion shows. #nostalgia

Last Saturday, Walter Schreifels (Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Rival Schools) played a solo set at Saint Vitus’s “Hurrican Sandy Relief Benefit”. Amongst the songs performed was “Delusional” from his Quicksand catalog. Video is below.
