The intimate Brooklyn venue was shut down by police on Friday during a Northside Festival event where Fade To Mind artist MikeQ was scheduled to headline. The following day the club’s management tweeted that they would be closed “for a few days.” Now they’ve confirmed that the closure could last a month-and-a-half, if not more. [Read more…]

While we’re still dealing with rollercoaster weather patterns, one can’t help but feel that summer is threatening to happen eventually… we’ve had the schedules for Celebrate BrooklynSummerstage, 4knots and more. So enjoy today’s sunshine and deal with the rain at the weekend… it can’t last forever! It has been a good week, with La Sera’s fantastic show at Market Hotel last night, an invigorating Secret Science Club lecture at the Bell House on Tuesday, and some great options to look forward to right now. I also want to point out two music-related events that aren’t shows this weekend – the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair on Saturday, now in its 9th year, and a screening of the Damned Documentary, Don’t You Wish That We Were Dead at Rough Trade on Sunday.

Vaadat Charigim play Palisades on 3/30

Israeli shoegazers Vaadat Charigim are coming back to Brooklyn this spring with a show at Palisades on the 30th of March, tickets are still available. The band, whose name roughly translates as committee of the abnormal, released their second album, Sinking As A Stoneon Burger Records last year, and you can listen to a couple of songs from it below. They sing in Hebrew but to see these it gives the songs an otherworldly quality that befits the genre. The trio just released a short documentary about their first tour of the US in 2014, which you can watch at the bottom of this post.
