Brooklyn Electronic Dance Round Up: March 24-26

Things are finally warming up in the burg and it’s a good time to kick that coat to the curb! On Friday, Sublimate is back with a secretly located shindig featuring heavy techno hitters October, Patricia, Reade Truth, plus residents. If you’d like, stop by the Panther Room at Output where brooding Deep House duo Frank & Tony will set the pace for the night with guest and local DJ/producer, Ital. Brooklyn Electronic Dance Round Up: Nov 13-14

BIG things happening this weekend! Neighborhood favorite, Cameo Gallery will be sending off their second-to-last weekend with a booking staple for the club, and one half of Metro Area, Morgan Geist. Joined by Have A Killer Time’s Justin Miller and venue resident Evan Michael, it’s sure to be a night of Disco and House with an italo edge (stick around for Saturday too when DFA’s Pat Mahoney stops in for one last set). Over at Good Room, FIXED celebrates their 11th Anniversary with a rare appearance from Kompakt’s Barnt, who has been winning hearts with his slow paced cosmic dance music. Also, just a skip down the road, Output sets up shop with an Innervisions label night featuring a live set from the afro rhythmic Âme and contributions from Marcus Worgall and Nikola Baytala too.

On Saturday, head into Bushwick where Broke City is back at Lot 45 showcasing the gritty and raw productions of L.I.E.S.’s Bookworms joined by locals Octo Octa and Beta Librae. Then finally finish your precious time off at Verboten for their Subversions night with Matthew Dear and DJ Koze. See you on the dance floor Brooklyn!

BROOKLYN ELECTRONIC DANCE ROUND UP: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1

Searching for a nightlife event this weekend seemed like a pretty easy task once I had all of the listings right in front. Whether it was combing through Resident Advisor, hordes of Facebook events or from word of mouth, it really came down to the various goings-on this friday over the bulk of saturday. Starting with the bass exploits of Addison Groove, veering off to Fabric (UK)-resident Daniel Avery and even a late night cap at Le Bain with Joakim, there’s plenty to do within a single night.

Feb 1: Addison Groove with FaltyDL & Max Pearl at Cameo Gallery

Anthony Williams began his career under the much more bass-heavy, dubstep guise of Headhunter. This project took off in 2007 with several successful releases on the influential Tempa label. Suddenly in 2010, Mr. Williams released one of the most influential bass music tracks Footcrab under his new Addison Groove moniker. This track began to get regular play within the dance music community including techno and house music DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos. For this special one night only, Anthony will be joined by Ninja Tune’s FaltyDL who has recently released the fantastic Hardcourage LP. Max Pearl of the smart-as-hell Cluster Mag warms up the night with tracks rich in rhythmic history, soul and integrity. The whole thing goes down at Williamsburg’s Cameo Gallery exactly at midnight.
