Another weekend full of great events to pick through and this time with the weather heating up, there’s a fresh variety of indoor/outdoor, free cover, and finally some rooftops. Start off your Friday night with Berlin’s eclectic vinyl selector, San Soda for the second monthly nascent party at Cameo. Then on Saturday Discovery brings Detroit House producer, Scott Grooves and Verboten curates a night of euro indie talent with Agoria and Kindness. By the time Sunday rolls around, you’ll be dying to get some fresh air so head on over to RBMA’s Larry Levan Block Party on King St. or seek out Resolute’s secret rooftop party and dance to the sweet sounds of Lake People, M.A.N.D.Y, Connie, and Maksim.
This weekend couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s finally the beginning of spring, temperatures are increasing and there are more club nights than you can shake a stick at. Starting off tonight, Cassian heads to Glasslands for a night of deep sexy disco with Body language and Travmatic. Mike Servito (The Bunker) and Nooka Jones also play an extended set of House and Techno over at Cameo. On Saturday, Seth Troxler kicks of his quarterly residency at Output. The new nascent night also begins with a live performance from John Roberts and support from Evan Michael and TURRBOTAX®’s Contakt. For those still up for dancing on Sunday, Cut Copy throws down a DJ Set at the newly opened Verboten coming off of their sold out Terminal 5 show.
Happy Near Year! We’ve made it into 2014 unscathed but with winter fast approaching. This week’s roundup is already a promising start to the new season with lots to hear and see. Indie/Electronic crossover and Brooklyn favorite, Neon Indian returns to Cameo tomorrow for a late night DJ set with Joel Ford (Ejecta) and Heathered Pearls. Then make your way to Glasslands for the NY Debut of Night Slug’s Egyptrixx A/V set. On Saturday, The Bunker celebrates an 11th Anniversary at Output with a lineup chock full of their standards like Silent Servant, Heartthrob and resident Mike Servito. Stay bundled up for the journey outside, but with the heat these events are generating it’s likely you’ll be ditching that coat right at the door.
This weekend there’s more than fifty different NYC nightlife events going on and that’s just the listings on Resident Advisor alone! I’ll take the time now to break down the top five North Brooklyn events that rise to the top. Whether it’s Kim Ann Foxman helping to open the new Bossa Nova Civic Club in Bushwick, or The Panorama Bar (Berlin) resident, Prosumer throwing down hard house music at The Bunker, there’s certainly a variety of choices.
