Brooklyn Electronic Dance Round Up: June 12-13

Trapped in the heat and you can’t get out? This weekend’s Northside Festival is due to be a hot one so make sure to stay hydrated! For those looking to keep the party going after the showcases, I’m back laying out the weekend’s finds for nightlife pleasure seeking. Starting with The Bunker tonight, presenting a heavy night of techno, celebrating the release of EPs on their label from both Løt.te and Mark Verbos. Then its off to Bushwick where you can find left field producer Willie Burns (L.I.E.S., WT Records) melding records together from years worth of collecting at Brooklyn’s The Thing record store. Cap it all off at the newly opened Black Flamingo for a classic night of Disco and House from Jacques Renault and Justin Miller. Saturday begins early with a daytime rooftop special at Output with Metro Area and local staples Kaviar Disco Club. For the pièce de résistance you can find Tigersushi honcho and french bred DJ/Producer Joakim at Cameo for an all night long DJ set with the legendary Justin Strauss! Go out and get some New York! – @evvnmichael

Brooklyn Electronic Dance Round Up: Aug 1-2

August has officially begun and this summer has been flying by way too fast! Don’t fret though, there’s still loads of parties in the neighborhood to keep you content. Be sure to stop by Cameo tonight as Neon Indian returns for a DJ set with his friends in The Great Void. Then it’s off to Output who have a free before midnight event with Toronto native, Nautiluss and local disco fiends, Justin & Justin. If you’re living further out, I definitely recommend the monthly Jack Dept. party at Bossa Nova which features Chi-Town’s Chrissy, and Boston’s John Barera amongst others. By the time Saturday rolls around, find yourself at FIXED presents Simian Mobile Disco for an intimate post-PS1 DJ Set. Finally, cap the whole weekend off at The Wick for S!ck Magic with Paul Johnson, Egyptrixx, Sinden, and Doctor Jeep.

Brooklyn Electronic Dance Round Up: Memorial Day Weekend Edition

I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for this long weekend to get started. Festival season is already in full swing and if you’re not leaving the city, here are a few events I’m recommending for those Brooklyn bound. Starting tonight, Benoit & Sergio return to Cameo bringing smooth and emotive tunes with locals JDH (FIXED) and Justin Strauss. Over at TBA, Nurvous Records is hosting ex-LCD Soundsystem and Crystal Ark musician, Gavin Russom. If your going out on Saturday, Glasslands has a nice line up of Disco and House DJs including Alan Blancato, Son of Sound and a set from the group Escort. For more of that footwork sound head to Baby’s All Right for Traxman with UNO Records special guest and Sadaf. Finally, round out your Sunday with Eamon and Justin for Mister Sunday in their new Industry City location.

Brooklyn Electronic Dance Round Up: March 28-29

Looks like we’re in for another jam packed weekend in the northern side of the borough. Tons of options ranging from large rooms to small space, no cover bars and beyond. Starting off Friday, Jamie xx and John Talabot play Verboten to an already sold out crowd (select tickets at the door). Then it’s to Cameo where Midnight Magic kicks off their monthly residency featuring a 3D animated laser installation. On Saturday, I’ve selected a few choice parties scattered towards Bushwick like Willie Burns at Wreck Room with the Lost Soul crew, a Glitterballnyc.com curated event at The Graham, and lastly an epic 8-hour set from techno legend Silent Servant at Todd P’s former Silent Barn space, Trans Pecos. Check out all the listings below for your maximum night out.
