Happy 4th of July, everyone, a long weekend is just what the doctor ordered. When all around is madness (I’m looking at the idiotic result of the EU referendum back home in the UK. Absolutely horrifyingly stupid), I’d suggest substituting banging your head against a wall for seeing a show or three.
While we’re still dealing with rollercoaster weather patterns, one can’t help but feel that summer is threatening to happen eventually… we’ve had the schedules for Celebrate Brooklyn, Summerstage, 4knots and more. So enjoy today’s sunshine and deal with the rain at the weekend… it can’t last forever! It has been a good week, with La Sera’s fantastic show at Market Hotel last night, an invigorating Secret Science Club lecture at the Bell House on Tuesday, and some great options to look forward to right now. I also want to point out two music-related events that aren’t shows this weekend – the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair on Saturday, now in its 9th year, and a screening of the Damned Documentary, Don’t You Wish That We Were Dead at Rough Trade on Sunday.
