Since Sade first emerged on the scene as Best New Artist in 1986, she’s been giving us music to, well, make out to. And although each album sounds pretty much the same, we’re not mad– mostly because Sade just keeps getting hotter.
Since we’re all about promoting all things that may help you get laid (be sure to be safe, kids), one lucky FREEwilly reader will score a copy of Sade’s “Soldier of Love” on vinyl– because let’s face it, if you have a record player you’re half way there already.
Head on over to our Twitter page and RT this, or comment on the contest thread over on Facebook. Good luck!
We’ve got a pair of tickets to check out Austin’s Shearwater this Saturday at the Bowery Ballroom. Their epically dreamy sound booms with melancholy, and kinda reminds me of Where the Wild Things Are, in the newest video for “Hidden Lakes”:
To win a pair of tickets to see Shearwater this weekend just comment on the contest thread over on our Facebook page!
For the last 15 years, LA-based drummer Jason Boesel has been planted firmly behind the kit, keeping time for the likes of Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes, The Elected, and more recently, Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band.
His first solo album, Hustler’s Son, is out now on Team Love Records and we’ve got a pair of tickets for his upcoming Bowery Ballroom show on Friday Feb, 19th. You know what to do… Just comment it up on our Facebook page and you can be the proud new owner of Jason Boesel tickets!
The Joy Formidable, who opened for Passion Pit at T5 last night (and again tonight), are playing two more New York shows before heading on tour with The Temper Trap. Luckily for you, we’ve got a pair of tickets for Monday night’s show at Union Hall with The Jaguar Club and Ravens & Chimes.
You wanna go? Well, all you have to do is comment on the Facebook thread, and you could have the chance to win tickets to see The Joy Formidable before they blow up real big.
With Animal Collective at the top of everyone’s Top of ’09 lists, it’s no wonder this show is already sold out. Add a special guest DJ like Fischerspooner, and people are going to get a little more bananas than already expected. Lucky for you, The Fader has hooked us up with a pair of tickets to give to one of you beautiful people. All you’ve gotta do is RT to win!
And while your’re at it, download the newest issue of Fader with AnCo appearing as guest editors, as well as entering in our other pretty awesome contest.
If you’re at the show this Friday and you wanna holler at you favorite music editor, I’ll be in the ocean room getting my Noah Baumbach on with this guy.
This Thursday, Vampire Weekend will be celebrating the release of Contra, their second full length. In addition to free booze, schwag, & DJ sets from the Weekend boys themselves, a ping pong tournament will be taking place to win a pair of tickets to their upcoming sold out United Palace show.
Here at FREEwilly, we’ve got the Contra single COUSINS 7″ as well as the Exclusive Bonus Contra Remix Disc to giveaway for one lucky reader. So Facebook and Twitter it up and it might be you!
Also, be sure to RSVP and arrive early on Thursday, you wouldn’t want to ruin your chances of beating Ezra Koenig at a friendly game of ping pong, would you?
Check out the video for “Cousins” after the jump…
FREEwilly has got a pair of tickets to see Titus Andronicus, along with the So So Glos, late on New Year’s Eve. So after you pop your champagne and kiss the closest stranger, you and your lucky new friend can head on over to the Mercury Lounge where you can slam dance the loneliness of 2009 away.
Along with the tickets, one lucky reader will receive the exclusive Live In London LP, The Innocents Abroad! The band’s second full-length, The Monitor, is expected out on March 9th on XL Recordings.
Just head on over to our Facebook page and comment on the contest thread, and you could start 2010 off right!
