5) Weird Womb Record Release w/ Slavve, Tape Deck Mountain, Gondoliers at Shea Stadium
Anybody who was lucky enough to catch Titus Andronicus ripping through a free Newcastle-fueled set at Cake Shop on Monday night, was also hopefully smart enough to catch Weird Womb and their scuzzy collection of In Utero-indebted Anthems, which set the evening off on the appropriately raucous sneaker. That was just a throat-clearer, however, as the local punks are set to hit Shea Stadium tonight to celebrate the release of their new record, Laziness, with Slavve and Tape Deck Mountain. If you know Shea Stadium, then you already know what this is all about—supporting the Brooklyn DIY scene, killer bands, social right of passage blah, blah. If not, well, then this is the perfect way to find out.
