More FREEwilliamsburg at CMJ: Fame School, Turbogeist, Ski Lodge, Big Muff Radio and more

freewillycmjA couple days ago, we announced our first of FOUR Official CMJ showcases with Porcelain Raft, Darkside’s (RIP) Dave Harrington, Excepter, Lydia Ainsworth and Buscabulla at Cameo Gallery. What’s that you say? Four CMJ showcases? That’s right… we got three more for ya.

We’re getting things started as early as humanly possible with a free day show at Pianos on the first day of CMJ, Tuesday, October 21. Doors are at 1 PM for the indie rock-heavy bill featuring Small Death, QuadGreen Gerry, Glass Gang, Little Racer and Big Muff Radio. After that, head across the Williamsburg Bridge with us for more buzzable indie rock at The Flat. Turbogeist (James Jagger’s band – as in MICK JAGGER’S SON) have flown in all the way from London to headline the Hooper Street stage with Ski Lodge and support from HITS, Life Size Maps, Honduras, Lazyeyes, Journalism and DJ’s Kristina Tequila and Danny Brooklyn. Entry is free with a CMJ badge or $5 otherwise. Doors are at 6 PM.

As you’ll note from the above poster, we’ve also taken over The Flat on Saturday night for what is easily the dopest hip-hop showcase at CMJ this year with Fame School, International Scumbags, Loyal Duce, Weekend Money, Skip Rage, Big Breakfast, Estiee, Leek 92 and DJ Neuport. After the sets, stick around because we’ve got the haps on that late night afterparty with Harukasalt and Cobrakrames; the perfect way to shut CMJ down. A badge will get you into the whole rager, other than that, it’s $10 before 8 and $15 thereafter.
