Down the street, Cameo celebrates its last Oct 31st with a stacked indie night featuring a DJ Set from Neon Indian, and it’s FREE courtesy of Jukely! Make your way deeper into Bushwick where Rinsed has a full showcase of secrets; secret warehouse and secret guests playing late into the night. Things get discofied in the Black Flamingo basement where DJ’s Tommy Castro and DJ Duckcomb spin classic tunes. And finally, MeanRed plays hosts to big talent from NYC’s Wolf + Lamb with New Jersey Disco afficionado, Mike Simonetti too. Happy Halloween y’all!
OK OK, we’re still holding onto that sweet summer heat for now, and it’s a good thing too as this weekend’s shaping up to be one chock full of daytime rooftop, BBQ events, and some secret warehouse locations made for those early morning sunrises. First, kick things off with a Brooklyn staple a la The Marcy Hotel, the jazzy house vibes of a LIVE No Regular Play set as they bring some crewlove to the neighborhood with Tanner Ross & Slow Hands for their second night in a series at Cameo. Then head over to Greenpoint where electro banger extraordinaire, LOUISAHHH!!! celebrates an EP release with like minded mates Lauren Flax and Young Male. Take things even further and stay up late heading deeper into Bushwick where Rinsed puts on a proper warehouse rave featuring Pearson Sound, Anthony Parasole and more. Come Saturday, it’s all about being in the sunshine as Tiki Disco returns to the OUTPUT Roof toting maximum outdoor elation. Finally, cap it all off with the 2nd Annual Level BBQ featuring L.I.E.S. Kicking off your Friday right, the smooth and groovy tunes of Benoit & Sergio will be performed live over at CAMEO alongside Brooklyn staples Dave Harrington (DJ) of DARKSIDE and rising act a/jus/ted. Over at The Panther Room, legendary 90’s House label Strictly Rhythm set up shop with a full showcase featuring Mr V, Carlos Mena and Tommy Bones. Come tomorrow, FIXED’s JDH & Dave P warm up your afternoon back on the Output roof where RSVPing is essential. Then venture out into Bushwick where Let’s Play House presents a night at the newly opened El Cortez featuring safari house vibes courtesy of Jacques Renault and friends. Finally, cap it all off with a long night stretch until morning at Resolute as they bring in Kompakt star Matias Aguayo and the much buzzed about Black Madonna and Galcher Lustwerk. Brooklyn’s back in action this weekend with plentiful parties in the open air and beyond. This week brought some much needed relief from the extreme heat and it’s the perfect time to bounce around the neighborhood and take in the variety of venues. Starting tonight at Bossa Nova, JACK DEPT continues their residency with a Live modular synth performance from Mark Verbos. Nearby, at Bushwick’s Palisades Vancouver’s buzzworthy 1080p label presents a showcase with synth-pop producer CFCF who has just released an LP on their imprint. As Saturday’s sun brings new light, enjoy the day listening to German Dub Techno pioneer Moritz von Oswald as he plays a heady set al fresco in the PS1 plaza. Or maybe head deeper down the L line to the newly opened Brooklyn Mirage, where they’ll be showcasing a Live A/V performance from global Techno star Stephan Bodzin, alongside legends like Doc Martin and Danny Howells playing well into the morning. Lastly, CAMEO flies in a rare treat for the evening, mule musiq’s deep and discofied crate digging champion KZA from Japan who is a sure bet to finishing off your weekend with extra positive vibes.

Then as Pride Week makes its way into Brooklyn, Club Shade hosts a secret warehouse fest featuring Hearthrob, Honey Dijon and more. For those looking to keep the party going after the showcases, I’m back laying out the weekend’s finds for nightlife pleasure seeking. Starting with The Bunker tonight, presenting a heavy night of techno, celebrating the release of EPs on their label from both Løt.te and Mark Verbos. Then its off to Bushwick where you can find left field producer Willie Burns (L.I.E.S., WT Records) melding records together from years worth of collecting at Brooklyn’s The Thing record store. Cap it all off at the newly opened Black Flamingo for a classic night of Disco and House from Jacques Renault and Justin Miller. Saturday begins early with a daytime rooftop special at Output with Metro Area and local staples Kaviar Disco Club. For the pièce de résistance you can find Tigersushi honcho and french bred DJ/Producer Joakim at Cameo for an all night long DJ set with the legendary Justin Strauss! At Glasslands, Kim Ann Foxman returns with disco house producer Fred Everything. On Saturday you can get things started at TBA with some real Detroit house vibes courtesy of Rick Wade. Over in Bushwick, Palisades hosts an Allergy Season x Adhoc session with Galcher Lustwerk and more. Starting tonight way over yonder in Bushwick at the Body Actualized Center where local festival curators, Sustain-Release are having a reunion party with a handful of techno talent. Then it’s off to the newly opened good room (former club europa) in Greenpoint where Golf Channel Records is hosting a showcase. For those wee hours in the morning, Resolute has flown over Paris’ Bass Culture Records honcho, D’Julz at a secret location. On Saturday, Tim Sweeney hosts the 15th Anniversary Party for Beats In Space at Cameo with Tom Noble and a live performance from Palmbomen. Then cap the whole thing off at Bossa Nova with Justin Miller and Tunnel Signs for Have A Killer Time.
