Another week down, another week of depressing Trump-related theocratic idiocy, at least there are a few fun things to do this weekend in amongst the necessary protests and rallies. Thanks to Peter for stepping in last week, I can say that doing a 70-hour working week with a fever is not terribly fun, but is a good way to lose weight if you’re still carrying those extra lbs from christmas. There are plenty of options for Halloween this weekend, so we’re sticking with the regular format here this week, rather than fill it with bands playing cover sets or other such quirky seasonal stuff. No, if you’ve come this far into the week and still haven’t decided if dressing up as Pizza Rat is the thing to do or not, chances are you just aren’t that into this whole halloween thing anyway. Wayne Kramer played Bowery Electric

For the first time in ten years, Wayne Kramer of MC5 fame played an amplified set in New York City, last night at the sold out Bowery Electric. And quite a 60min set it was, guest star filled to the gills. Handsome Dick Manitoba took over vocals duties for “Kick out the jams”. Jesse Malin (D Generation) & Jeremy Piven (“Entourage”, the TV show) joined in on vocals and drums for “Jail Guitar Doors”, originally recorded by The Clash. All that and more is in the video below.

Last night Bowery Electric hosted a benefit for Strummerville, celebrating the artistic oeuvre of Joe Strummer and The Clash. Amongst the plethora of performers where The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon and H.R. from the Bad Brains. Watch them and more in the videos below.
