Still processing the news that Chris Cornell died today, Soundgarden have always been a huge favourite. I’ll be in Lisbon this weekend on a much needed break but I’m still trying not to be disappointed at missing some of these. Anyway, I’ll console myself with seafood and wine and you enjoy yourselves with bass, guitars, […]
I’m going to shut up and let the music do the talking this week, there’s a little nostalgia sprinkled among some releases fresh off the block.
Yes, yes, May the Fourth Be With You and all that jazz, the real nerds know it’s also Cinco De Cuatro, and I’m also looking forward to seeing Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 (bonus nerd points to anyone who has seen and loved James Gunn’s earlier movies, Slither (extra extra points for seeing it at […]
While we’re usually anticipating what to do at the CMJ Music Marathon around this time of the year, we’ll just have to find something else to do instead. Fear not, however, because a regular weekend is obviously still packed with things to do and this one is no exception, which is especially well-timed given the […]
You don’t need me wasting your time with chit-chat, there are weekend plans to be made, this time we bring you some site favourites and something out of left field. Enjoy!

I managed to see my fellow Oxfordians, Radiohead, on Tuesday, so everything else this week may seem like a bit of a Let Down (although I saw them play that 10 years ago too). Still, while the bar has been set high, there are still some fantastic bands in town for the weekend!
Canadian quartet Holy Fuck are in town this week for two shows: on Tuesday the 19th they will be at Music Hall of Williamsburg (tickets), while Bowery Ballroom plays host on Wednesday the 20th (tickets). Apart from a few gigs here and there, including the last time I saw them, a surprise set as Holy Fun at Death […]
Happy 4th of July, everyone, a long weekend is just what the doctor ordered. When all around is madness (I’m looking at the idiotic result of the EU referendum back home in the UK. Absolutely horrifyingly stupid), I’d suggest substituting banging your head against a wall for seeing a show or three.
This is metal. March always comes in like lion. Check out all the requisite insanity below and make sure to stay tuned for a rad TOGTE announcement in the coming days.
