On the night of May 6th, a sold out Baby’s All Right witnessed both the triumphant return of and what may also very well have been our sweaty and raucous goodbye to New York favorites, SKATERS. SKATERS soundtracked my college years in the city and produced many of my favorite shows—and least favorite hangovers—of my […]
I’ll start by mentioning something you should do this weekend that isn’t a concert: re-issue specialists The Numero Group will have a pop-up store this Friday and Saturday at 170 Franklin St in Greenpoint, go and spend all your money. Anyway, you can do that and STILL go to shows, of course, and these are the ones you […]
UPDATED: Shea loses lease We all know the troubles our beloved Brooklyn venue Shea Stadium has been undergoing the last few months. But— as we continue to see the closings of venues we have cherished over many years in Brooklyn, we refuse to let one more go under. Our community of music lovers and show-goers will […]
Maybe, just maybe, winter is finally over. With the raft of summer show announcements this week as well, seems like we can finally turn our attentions to spending time outside our apartments. There are plenty of great shows to catch this weekend, and here are the highlights.

While some of the major players have already announced their summer festival lineups (Panorama / Govball), which admittedly doesn’t seem too far away with today’s high of 15 degrees C, but let’s stick with the present. We only have one more weekend until an orange clown has the nuclear codes, so maybe we should just […]
I go away for a couple of weeks and look what happens… it’s like forgetting to lock your door but still being surprised when you find out all your stuff has been stolen. Between Brexit and Trump this year, you’d be forgiven if “the will of the people” merely leads you to the bottom of […]
