5) Alvvays, Kiwi at Bowery Ballroom
Having seen Alvvays play numerous free shows in New York in the last couple of years, it took me by surprise a little that they’ve not only upgraded to a venue like Bowery Ballroom, but they’ve also sold it out! It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise however, after the release of their self-titled debut album last year, which revealed itself as a an incredibly strong indie-pop record with a heartbreaking sound that bands such as Camera Obscura have given us over more recent years.
