It took rescuers nearly half an hour to remove the man from the station, and paramedics were seen performing chest compressions on him as they loaded him into an ambulance. A Fire Department spokesman said that responders drove the victim to Woodhull Medical Center in cardiac arrest. The spokesman did not know the man’s current condition, but the NYPD believed he was not likely to die.
