Slonk Donkerson are one of my favourite acts these days, and they are set to release their third record, The Lunar Martini Motorbike Club and Their Respective Destinies, this Friday. The band are celebrating with a record release show at Baby’s All Right on Saturday the 26th of September, with a supporting cast of Bueno, Simon Doom and The Gradients.
You can stream the new record in full and read an interview over on Stereogum (the interviewer was certainly not the only one to hear the Rush influence). While most of the bands on the DIY circuit tend to play garage rock or post-punk, Slonk Donkerson’s keen sense of melody and finely crafted, ambitious tunes, have set them apart in the last few years.
The Lunar Martini Motorbike Club and Their Respective Destinies will be released on Black Bell Records, you can also pre-order the digital version on itunes.
