You’ve probably already heard about the horrible stabbing that occurred on Friday by McGolrick Park. If not, here’s what happened:
One of the last things that George Carroll saw near the end of his too-short life was a pair of strangers who seemed like trouble. They were. Seconds later, one of them, unprovoked, plunged a knife into Carroll’s chest and left him to die on a Brooklyn sidewalk as his screaming wife stood watching helplessly.
Carroll, 42, was walking with his spouse near McGolrick Park around 9:30 p.m. Friday when they passed two men sitting on the steps of a school in Greenpoint, cops said Saturday. What are you looking at?” snapped one of the pair before both attacked Carroll for no apparent reason, according to his wife, Christina Romero Carroll.
“I think it’s nothing, (but) these guys cross over and it happened so fast,” the choked-up Romero Carroll said Saturday.
