Check out that stage setup! Robert DeLong rocked Louisville’s Forecastle Festival earlier this Summer (Photo Credit: Steve Liski)
This week is going to be a good week, and not only for all you party animals making the escape down south to TomorrowWorld. The cold may be starting to settle in here in New York, but Robert DeLong is back to heat us up with some hot shows. You should know Robert DeLong by now – I interviewed this unique singer/songwriter/producer/bonafide badass about how he’s creating some of the most unique new sounds out today. The dude figured out how to turn a Wii-mote into a functional musical instrument, not to mention a Microsoft Sidewinder, a Gaming Steering Wheel and countless other innovative objects that you didn’t even realize had the ability to make such crazy, awesome beats. Pair that with his fantastic drumming, guitar playing, thoughtful lyrics and mesmerizing vocals, and you experience something no on else is bringing to the scene.
This guy is seriously ace, and his two New York City-area shows are bound to bring with them a fantastic new energy, especially after having dropped his Sophomore album, In the Cards, just last week. I am hella excited to see the new digs on stage. So, Don’t Wait Up! Get your tickets for one of his two upcoming performances. He’ll be playing Tuesday night at one of our personal favorites, Rough Trade, and if you’re still up for making the two-hour trek to Asbury Park on Wednesday, he’ll be rocking another show at the legendary Stone Pony Summer Stage.
