Peaking Lights share their Cosmic Logic with new album, stream it! And see them in NYC this week

Wisconsin married duo Peaking Lights have long excelled at their brand of poppy psych-tinged dub. And with their newest studio album, fittingly titled Cosmic Logic, they further expand upon this sound. Both singles so far, “Breakdown” and “Everyone and Us” find Indra’s voice boldly at the forefront, where on their last albums 936 and Lucifer it was found under layers of synth and sunny haze. These songs are definitely brighter than we are used to from these two. For lack of a better “cosmic” joke, shine on you crazy diamonds.

Listen to the singles after the jump, where you’ll also find tour dates (they’re in NYC this week!) and the album’s track list.

UPDATE: You can stream the entire album now at their label Domino’s website. Plus find an added date at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on Friday below.

You can pre-order Cosmic Logic, which is out October 7, via Domino’s imprint Weird World. In a statement, Aaron said, “Peaking Lights’ whole thing has always been based on an idea of ‘Fucked Modern Pop’ but exactly what that is, we don’t know… we’re still trying to figure that out.”

Peaking Lights will be in town tomorrow, supporting Real Estate at Terminal 5. Tickets are still on sale. Regal Degal also opens the show and comedian Tom Scharpling will be DJing.

In addition, they’re playing a free in-store at Other Music Friday at 9! They’ve also added a late show at Baby’s All Right that night (doors at midnight)! This promises to be a pyschedelic dance party. Grab tickets here.

Then on Saturday, the 4th, Peaking Lights will perform at the Modern Sky Festival happening in Central Park as a part of ATOMIC BOMB! The Music of William Oyneabor. Cat Power, Liars, Blood Brothers, Stars, and others are on the bill, too. There are weekend and day passes here.
