The wait is over. That is, unless you’re currently standing in line waiting for a slice at Paulie’s new slice shop in Greenpoint. After teasing us for months, the new pizza joint opened on Tuesday night serving a limited menu. Delivery is coming soon, we’re told. More from Eater:
The more casual, counter-service spin-off from Paul Giannone has limited hours and offerings today, but on Wednesday, the slice shop at 110 Franklin St., at Noble Street, will be on full blast, with more pies and longer hours.
Gianonne went hard on vintage decor at the restaurant, literally using bright orange booths from the Jersey pizzeria that his family used to frequent. The pies, too, are more classic. Andrew Brown, a longtime staffer of Giannone’s popular wood-fired restaurant Paulie Gee’s, is firing up New York-style cheese, pepperoni, and sausage slices here, plus vegan options. The Sicilian veers a little more from tradition; the crust is packed with sesame seeds.
