We can’t say we miss the cheesy and noisy club that used to occupy 74 Wythe Avenue. RIP Output. Evidently, a new occupant is coming early next year. The ground level floor will be used as a rental for private parties. On the top level, there will be a Japanese restaurant that’s open to the public:
The new 18,000 square foot establishment is slated to open in February and will include a ballroom, a Japanese restaurant, a cocktail bar and a rooftop terrace, according to Joshua Kaiser, a representative of the building owner Zach Weinberg, who spoke before Community Board 1 earlier this month.
The venue will have a capacity of nearly 800 people.
The ball room will take up the ground floor and will be capable of seating 200 people. It has been designated for corporate and social events like weddings, Bat Mitzvahs and award ceremonies.
On the upper level, there will be a Japanese Izakaya restaurant serving ramen, pork buns and sushi as well as a cocktail bar with a capacity of 70 people. The restaurant and cocktail bar will be open to the public seven days a week until 2 a.m.
There is also a rooftop terrace that has a capacity for about 300 people. This space, which has a retractable roof, will include a cocktail bar and a dining area.
The retractable roof will help to mitigate noise complaints, Kaiser told the community board. He said that OUTPUT was somewhat unpopular with the community because it was loud and that there would not be a similar problem with the new establishment.
Output was not cheesy!
