A long wooden bar extends to nearly the full length of the interior, with ample counter space for stool-seating, along with a few smaller booths along the opposite wall. There are delicate touches of old-school elegance here, like 1950s-style hanging lights, a jukebox and a vintage cigarette vending machine that’s been refurbished as a water cooler. Three Diamond Door also boasts a good-sized backyard, once a rare asset for a bar in the neighborhood, though they’ve become more common lately. It’s a little sparse at the moment, but the owners expect patio furniture to arrive any day now, and they’ve outfitted it with potted plants and white Christmas lights. In terms of drinks, there are over a dozen beers on tap—Anchor Steam, Blue Point Toasted Lager, Brooklyn Pilsner and Whale’s Tail Pale Ale, to name a few— with drafts running about $6 to $7. They’ve also got Prosecco on tap (!), a couple $6 beer-and-shot specials and a cocktail menu, and they’ll be selling snacks in the next few weeks. Starting next week, there will be a Saturday and Sunday happy hour running from noon to 8 p.m., with special deals on cocktails like a cherry-infused St. Germain cocktail made with Prosecco and grapefruit juice, a Baby Bloody (vodka shot with a Bloody Mary mix-back) a Three Diamond Door Bloody and mimosas (prices TBD). There’s also a daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a dollar off well drinks, shots, drafts and wine. Co-owner Mike Ireland also co-runs neighborhood favorite Pearl’s Social & Billy Club, and partners Gabriel Check and Myles Atherton are behind Williamsburg bar Lady Jay’s and Oak & Iron in Greenpoint. We expect big things, even if they won’t be serving fried wings at 3 a.m.
