She’s back, and better than ever! Lace up your sneaks, the McCarren Track is finally open again after nearly a year of repairs! 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Of course it’s way too cold to even go outside, but the track reopened on Monday. The park was closed for 10 long months for repairs and updates. It’ll be warmer this weekend so its time for a run!

McCarren Park’s track and turf field have recently reopened after nearly a year of capital project renovations.

The quarter-mile track reopened yesterday, weeks ahead of the anticipated opening in March, and features freshly painted numbers and other markings on brand new rubber.

The adjacent multi-use field, which also closed along with the track in March 2018 for the $3.2 million overhaul, now sees brand new turf after the old material was ripped out and replaced.

And now we’ve got “Stars of Track and Field” in our head!
