Man injured in truck-surfing accident in Williamsburg

One man learned the hard way this Wednesday that ghost riding the whip increases your chances of becoming an actual, IRL, ghost.

DNAInfo reports that the man hopped on the back of a food delivery truck, but fell off near Bedford Ave. and North 11th St., near McCarren Park, at around 4:30 A.M. This raises three important questions:

  1. Where was the truck-surfer going at 4:30 A.M. on a Wednesday that required him to surf on a truck? Work? Surely he has a better, more reliable means of locomotion for getting to work.
  2. Who orders delivery at 4:30 A.M. on a Wednesday?
  3. Who delivers at 4:30 A.M. on a Wednesday?

The truck-surfer, who is believed to be in his 20s, was taken to Bellevue Hospital with serious injuries, but he is stable. The delivery driver did not realize his truck was being used as a surfboard, and so did not stop when the surfer fell off. Presumably whoever ordered delivery at 4:30 A.M. on a Wednesday got their food.
