Summer solstice brings music to the streets with Make Music New York- a festival flooding sidewalks, parks and anywhere you can fit an amp with hundreds of outdoor concerts. From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., scores of musicians from all genres will play around the five boroughs. Currently, Make Music New York is holding an open call if you’d like to participate. It’s free and MMNY will coordinate your concert, secure your permits and promote your event. You can also register your own space as a location for the festival. Sounds like the perfect opportunity to plan a backyard (or stoop, rooftop, etc.) barbecue with some built in entertainment.
To sign up, go to makemusicny.org/participate. All concert arrangements must be finalized by April 29.
