There’s so much to get excited about in this post. Lightning Bolt, as you may have heard, are releasing Fantasy Empire, their first album in five years, on March 23 via their new label, Thrill Jockey. To support it, the noise icons who were the last band to ever play Death By Audio will be hitting the road for a spring tour which includes dates at The Wick and (le) poisson rouge. Said tour’s supporting acts are METZ and Liturgy. METZ AND LITURGY.
Unfortunately, neither have been confirmed for the NYC dates as of yet but plz omg plz plz let this bill come to fruition. Tickets are on sale on Friday at 10 a.m., and they’re must buys even if the opening act is an acoustic set from f*ckin Japanese Cartoon. Actually, that would be hilarious.
Oh, and the first track from the record, “The Metal East” dropped yesterday. Check it out.
Yep. Sounds like Lightning Bolt.
