It’s that time of the year, so let the scares begin. The Ridgewood Asylum opens tomorrow at The Deep End (1080 Wyckoff Avenue, Queens NY 11385).

Last year, The Deep End built a 1000 square foot room into a haunted house: The Ridgewood Slaughterhouse. It was 5 rooms filled with demented characters, gore, escape rooms, and more. The Deep End Crew have built haunted houses before, but the immersive experience this year is the most ambitious one yet… and it’s going to be gory good!

~~What Happened Was True~~
After the police discovered the gruesome massacre that took place in the Ridgewood Slaughterhouse in the summer of 1972, the condemned building was then demolished and rebuilt as a psychiatric rehabilitation hospital.
For over a hundred years, the United States has locked away the mentally ill. The Ridgewood Asylum in New York is one of about 170 psychiatric hospitals in the country. Hospitals that try to meet the needs of the mentally sick and practiced unconventional treatments. Patients felt that science was being pushed too far. Unspeakable horrors ensued during their operating years.
The Ridgewood Asylum closed down in the fall of 1980. Numerous violent cases of paranormal activity have been reported since and no one has dared to enter…until now!
