Operators of the parlor, known as Health Center Massage Therapy or Oasis Spa at 223 Calyer St., were charged Monday with sex trafficking, promoting prostitution and forging business records, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office announced. The four operators — Yun Feng Zhang, Yan Lui, Boxuan Zhang and Zhan Wei Liu— allegedly ran the prostitution ring both at the Calyer Street parlor and at a parlor at 307 Henry St. in Brooklyn Heights, prosecutors said.
They allegedly advertised services on Backpage.com and on Craigslist, and clients paid the business through cash or credit card for “seemingly legitimate businesses,” the press release said. The four operators were arrested following a search of the business Sept. 7 and have been indicted, a spokeswoman for the Brooklyn DA said. They are being held in Otis Bantum Correctional Center and will be arraigned Tuesday in Brooklyn Supreme Court.
If convicted, they could each face up to 25 years in prison. A lawyer has not yet been listed for the suspects, and the person who answered the phone number listed for their massage parlor said the line was not connected to the spa.
