No sun? Still fun. Or at least the organizers over at The Governors Ball Music & Arts Festival seem to think so. In what has become an annual tradition, GovBallNYC has announced another stacked “After Dark” series, for festival goers who want to keep the party going long after the last headlining guitar strums fall silent on Randall’s Island.
Kick off your GovBallNYC pre-game on Thursday night, with acts like alternative rockers, Bob Moses, playing an exclusive, invite-only club set at the Dream Downtown, or Twin Cities indie band, Hippo Campus, shredding out at Warsaw in Greenpoint.
The festivities will continue pumping through the weekend when other GovBall performers like Kaytranada, Soccer Mommy and Hundredth appearing at a slew of local venues including Brooklyn Bowl, Villain, Brooklyn Bazaar, Saint Vitus, Union Pool and Baby’s All Right. Damn BK, represent! This lineup suggests some rare opportunities to catch names like Los-Angeles based producer ZHU and poetic rapper NONAME in intimate rooms. So hit the three-day festival (get tickets HERE), and then just keep going. Come on, everyone knows the best stories take shape after dark.
