The winter Olympic games are just a couple weeks away and with all this fresh powder covering the streets, some of us are dying to shred. Luckily, there are a couple options right in the neighborhood.
The Diamond in Greenpoint is organizing a trip this weekend to Plattekill in the Catskills. The lift ticket price is $45 and anyone interested should email firstname.lastname@example.org. The trip will be caravan style- bonus points if you have a car! Afterwards, The Diamond is hosting a mac ‘n cheese cook-off at 8 p.m., open to everyone, so you can eat all the calories you might have burned on the mountain. Free drinks for skiers!
The New York City Snow Bus picks up in multiple locations around the city, one of them being on Metropolitan Avenue. The bus departs for the day at 8:00 a.m. heading to Mountain Creek in New Jersey and heads back to Brooklyn at 4:30 p.m. Once back in the neighborhood, the kind folks at NYC Snow Bus buy a round of brews for everyone who participated. Tickets range from just a bus ticket at $35 to full rental and a lesson at $112.
The Huffington Post has a few other suggestions as well, with pick-up locations in Manhattan and other areas of Brooklyn.
