The Brooklyn music gods behind Glasslands and Popgun Presents are set to debut their new 24,000 sq.ft. Bushwick music venue known as Elsewhere. The space is located at 599 Johnson Ave right off the Jefferson stop. I got to tour the venue recently and was very impressed with comprehensiveness of the space. There is a 675-capacity performance hall (Elsewhere Hall) with great sight lines, a smaller 200-capacity space (Zone One), multiple bars including one that will double as a coffee shop during the day (The Loft) and one the roof, an art gallery (Skybridge Gallery), a courtyard, and plenty of bathrooms. They have also announced their first set of shows and tickets are on sale now. From their press release:
We’re very proud to announce our first sampling of Elsewhere shows beginning this November, with 1st
season performances by artists such as Parquet Courts, No Age, ADULT., Anamanaguchi,
MNDSGN, Sunflower Bean, Kllo, Palm, Guantanamo Baywatch, Humans, Celebration, P.O.S,
Bruno Major, and TOMI.
At the helm of our 1st season of club nights, we’re very proud to invite a collection of innovative
producers and DJs such as Jlin, Octave One, Classixx, lori, Poolside, Stacey Pullen, Totally
Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Cyril Hahn, Juan Atkins, Halal & Relaxer, Moon Boots, Total
Freedom, and Kölsch. In addition, early next year, legendary local techno party The Bunker will be
landing at Elsewhere for a massive multi-room 15th Anniversary celebration takeover.
