It’s that time of the year again, now in its 34th year, the CMJ Music Marathon kicks off on the 21st of October and runs through the 25th. It’s a dangerous time for eyes, ears and livers across the city as over 1,300 bands and artists are put through their paces with few venues left unturned.
It’s an exciting lineup, with Slowdive arguably being the most eye-catching announcement, although they are just playing the one show at Terminal 5. The likes of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, White Fence, September Girls and Twin Peaks don’t look like they’ll be getting any sleep, playing multiple times a day.
CMJ have just posted the full schedule on their website, which lets you switch the view by venue, artist or timeline (I favour the venue view, personally). It’s a great resource, but it’s still quite daunting trying to absorb all the information. In the coming days we’ll be giving our recommendations on who to see and where to go, and there are some mouth-watering free shows available as well. If you want to attend, badges are still available, or go a la carte!
