Just coming off Elements Arts & Music Festival, I’m now officially primed for the sweet ass summer that lies ahead. After spending three magical days in Lakewood, PA with the BangOn!NYC crew, I’ve been reminded of what a wonderful part of the world in which we choose to party. Not only do we have amazing festivals to experience in NYC and beyond, but we also play host to some of the most exciting sets to hit on the east coast this season. God damn, we is some lucky fools!
This week is a particularly packed one as we welcome back the annual GovBallNYC festivities, a few of techno’s heavy hitters and a once in an after-lifetime zombie ball. Check out our top party picks in this week’s club crush.
1.) GovBallNYC @ Randall’s Island (Friday, June 2nd- Sunday, June 4th) – It’s that time of year again! Founders Entertainment brings one of the nation’s biggest music and arts festivals back to Randall’s Island for its 7th annual installment, and this year’s lineup is as stacked as ever. Since this is an electronic-centric post, I’m going to recommend that you catch Marshmello, Flume and Air this weekend (but the high school goth kid in me low-key hopes you’ll save some room for TOOL on your festival roster). Get 3-Day passes, single day tickets and Williamsburg ferry tickets, HERE.
2.) Governors Ball After Dark: Rüfüs Du Sol & Friends @ Schimanski NYC (Friday, June 2nd) – Schimanski plays host to Governors Balls’ hottest after party featuring Sydney’s alternative dance collective, Rüfüs Du Sol, as well as Dirtybird’s own Walker & Royce, plus Cassian and Dena Amy. This late-night mixer is brought to you by Bacardi, so put your Mojito face on. Get tickets HERE.
3.) Governors Ball After Dark: Mark Ronson vs. Kevin Parker @ Output (Friday, June 2nd) – This booking was among GovBallNYC’s most enticing, so we’re obviously thrilled to see that Uptown Funk producer, Mark Ronson, and Tame Impala frontman, Kevin Parker, are reprising this very rare collaboration to Output’s main room on Friday night. I can’t wait to see the ravers and hipsters bond over $10 cans of Saporro (a girl can dream, right?). Get tickets HERE.
4.) Zombie Beach Party w/ Greg Wilson @ House of Yes (Friday, June 2nd) – This annual beach party packs enough power to wake the dead. This year’s spooky soiree features sets from Greg Wilson, Octo Octa and House of Yes resident DJ, David Kiss. Come thirsty, and don’t forget to dress in your sexiest blood-soaked bikinis and board shorts because this one’s gonna be RAVEnous. Get tickets HERE.
5.) OUTPOST Presents: Tuskegee @ The Well (Sunday, June 4th) – The titan’s of New York techno are coming together for an 8-hour B2B at The Well (272 Meserole St.) this Saturday. The Martinez Brothers join forces with former Output resident, Seth Troxler, for an all-day blowout that is not to be missed. We’re hoping this “OUTPOST” party is just the beginning of a new tradition, and we can’t think of a better threesome to kick this off right. Get tickets HERE.
