Boo! It’s Halloween, which means you’ve probably already gobbled down a handful of sweets on this day of spooky indulgence. I already tipped you off to some spine-tingling sets going on in the hood tonight, but let’s be real, your sugar rush should keep you soaring straight through the weekend. Keep things sweet with these Club Crush picks.
.) Ekali @ Warsaw (Thursday, November 1st) – Few bass artists can boast a knack for versatility like Ekali. From trap-rattled festival bangers to dreamy bedroom bass mixes, Ekali’s one-of-a-kind sound is truly something to marvel. Hot off the release of his debut EP, ‘Crystal Eyes’, the Vancouver-based producer is bringing his unmatched beats to Warsaw, one of Greenpoint’s most unique venues. Bonus: it’s perfect pierogi weather, so grab a plate from the on-site kitchen and chow down while you get down. His collaborator, 1788-L, provides support. Get tickets HERE.
.) Robert DeLong @ Bowery Ballroom (Friday, November 2nd) – We just found out the official shutdown date for the L, so I suppose it is time we warm up to the J train. Lucky for you, this route will bring you straight into Lower Manhattan, where the scene’s most enticing one-man band, Robert DeLong, will be performing. The wii-mote slinging singer/songwriter/instrumentalist never fails to wow us with his on-stage endurance and talent for live manipulation. He’s releasing a lot of new tunes as of late (‘Revolutionary’ is the track millennials didn’t know they needed, IMO), so strap in for what’s sure to be a wild ride. Get tickets HERE.
.) LTJ Bukem: Extended Drum & Bass Set @ Brooklyn Bowl (Friday, November 2nd) – How about a little DnB this weekend? Genre pioneer LTJ Bukem returns to Brooklyn Bowl for another special extended set, and this time he’s bringing along two all-star MCs, Armanni Reign and T.R.A.C. Catch the British visionary while you hit the lanes and dine on Blue Ribbon fried chicken. When Brooklyn Bowl is the hang spot, you really can’t go wrong. Get tickets HERE.
.) The Magician @ Output (Friday, November 2nd) – Now you see him. Now you don’t. And now you see him AGAIN. We can always count on Brussels-based producer, The Magician, to swing by for his Friday night residency at Output in Brooklyn. The eclectic deep house producer just released a new track last Friday with UK producer, Kideko and which marks number 5 of hot urban pop releases out in 2018. You know how it is with him – there are always a few tricks up his sleeve. Get tickets HERE.
.) Schimanski 2-Year Anniversary featuring Pan-Pot @ Schimanski NYC (Saturday, November 3rd) – Wow! It’s been two whole years since Schimanski NYC breathed new life into the ultra-modern nightclub on North 11th Street, and they are celebrating in a big way! Tech house favorite Pan-Pot provides the soundtrack for this legendary evening, so grab some tickets and get ready to toast to many more fire sets to come in Williamsburg! RSVP for free entry before 12PM or get tickets HERE.
