And just like that, the end of summer is upon us. It’s been a swell one, full of rooftops and courtyards and festivals and all of those things that get us through the big, bad northeastern winter. Just writing about it makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Lucky for us, it’s looking like the weekend will be comfy AF, so don’t tuck that skimpy wardrobe away just yet. Whether you’re looking to groove on Elsewhere’s rooftop one final time, or get extra wavy at the summer’s dreamiest party, you can’t go wrong! It’s okay to feel wistful, but please don’t be sad. As you’ll see, this week’s Club Crush picks are serving up a whole lot of sunshine.
.) Mad Decent Block Party @ The Brooklyn Mirage (Friday, September 14th) – Diplo’s infamously ratchet day party is getting a little makeover this year when it heads to the ultra-chic Brooklyn Mirage. This year’s event features a diverse lineup from the Mad Decent camp, including down under trap star What So Not, London-based genre bender, TroyBoi, and Major Lazer teamster, Walshy Fire. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m expecting a lot of moombah and bounce from the founding tastemaker, but if he really wants to keep things bright, Diplo will show us the new tricks he’s been laying with Silk City, his huge side project with master producer, Mark Ronson. This event is SOLD OUT. Get more info HERE.
.) Risky Business @ Output (Friday, September 14th) – Known for bringing joyful, positive vibes to New York dancefloors, Risky Business is back at Output this Friday. The fun-loving squad may be best known for their “Check Your Pants At The Door” Bottomless Brunch parties, but this time we recommend covered bottoms (only because Output says so). Expect plenty of upbeat house, techno and alternative sounds from David Squillace, Desna, Alex Raouf & Chilly Mox. Get tickets HERE.
.) Magic City @ Elsewhere Roof (Saturday, September 15th) – It’s your last chance to soak up tunes on Elsewhere’s impeccably artsy rooftop, and this afternoon is shaping up to be pure magic. Come early and stay late for whimsical beats compliments of Miami rave maker, Jubilee and Aden, alter-ego of the hugely popular producer Machinedrum, and many more. Get tickets HERE.
.) Kingdom, MikeQ and Tygapaw @ Elsewhere (Saturday, September 15th) – As co-founder of label and studio Fade to Mind, Kingdom is known for his distinctive sound which draws from UK bass, R&B, rap, house and grime. Recently, his unique productions have breathed life into all-star collaborations with SZA, Kelela and Dawn Richard. He’ll be joined by Fade to Mind artist Mike Q, as well as NYC-based Caribbean DJ Tygapaw and Fried Platano. Oscar Nñ of PAPI JUICE heads the bill for ZONE 1. And best of all, it’s free with RSVP before midnight! RSVP HERE.
.) All Day I Dream of Forever Summer @ The Brooklyn Mirage (Sunday, September 16th) – If anyone can break the clouds, it’s acid house legend, Lee Burridge. He and usual suspects, YokoO and Hoj, return to The Brooklyn Mirage for another legendary installment of All Day I Dream. Their ethereal, Burner-inspired beats are sure to put the sun in your Sunday as they close out the ADID season in style. Get tickets HERE.
